Welcome + What You Can Expect Here

I remember when I first found out I was pregnant with my first baby. He was a total surprise! I had been on the pill and was in no way expecting to get pregnant. I had just started college. I went through a period of fear and grief — grieving the life I thought I wanted or had. I was also scared of what this meant for my future. I questioned God and His plans for me.

I found myself clinging to the Bible verse:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

To this day, I still cling to this verse. It brings tears to my eyes when I think about where I am now — how much my life has changed for the better, even if the journey has been challenging.

I had so many questions and felt so lost at the beginning of my pregnancy. I felt naive, and being young, the medical staff only made me feel that even more. I was unsupported and unsure how to best care for myself during pregnancy or what to expect.

I had always wanted to be a mother — it was just happening before I thought I was ready (turns out it was exactly when I needed it to happen). I craved real, human support and a guide — not the purely clinical, often demeaning care I experienced early on. This led me to choose homebirth with a midwife and to start doing my own research.

What Led Me to Birthwork

My experience with my first pregnancy and birth is what shaped my calling to birthwork. I began studying to become a birth and postpartum doula, which later led to my desire to teach childbirth education.

I want to empower other young moms — especially those who may not have all the answers or who feel lost on where to begin. My hope is to support you in your motherhood journey, help you make informed decisions, and guide you toward the birth you truly want.

Not just the “I just want a healthy baby” kind of birth.
Because there’s so much more to it than that.

I hope this space helps you find answers to your questions — and even answers to questions you didn’t know you had. I want to guide and support you in taking radical ownership of your experience. Because that’s exactly what birth is: an incredibly transformative, powerful, and beautiful experience that is yours to have.
